ODAM has facilitated the formation of nearly 900 Women’s Self Help Groups (SHGs) to create a vast network providing nearly 14,000 women and their families with socio-economic opportunities. Each Self Help Group consists of 10 to 20 women and membership in a SHG allows women to take advantage of new economic, health, and educational opportunities. Participation in SHGs has uplifted thousands of families in Tamil Nadu to improve their quality of life and support women’s empowerment locally.
